In the spring of 2003, Uncle Smiley found himself in the middle of the woods with nothing to eat but a tin of chewing tobacco. He wandered around hungry for hours until running into a camper who took pity on Uncle Smiley, and offered him a dried piece of beef. This dried beef, while not very tasty, definitely cured the hunger pangs. It was then and there that Uncle Smiley decided two things that changed the course of his life and the lives of Beef Jerky lovers everywhere. The first thing was that chewing tobacco was a nasty habit that did nothing to fight hunger. The second, and more important decision, was to work tirelessly to create the perfect Beef Jerky recipes. One recipe for those who like their snacks to be on the mild side and one for those who like things to be a little more spicey.
